Best known for bringing Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends to life, E. H. Shepard was far more than a children’s illustrator. This exhibition explores his remarkable life and career, from his early work as a political cartoonist for Punch magazine to the enduring legacy of his illustrations for A. A. Milne’s classic stories.
Curated by the University of Surrey Archives and Special Collections, which holds three significant collections of Shepard’s work, the exhibition highlighted his personal and professional connections to the local area and offered visitors a deeper understanding of the artist behind the instantly recognisable drawings.
