about this event

The choir of the world-famous London Welsh Rugby Club has established itself over the past two decades as one of the premier male voice performers in the UK. Formed to tour New Zealand with the British & Irish Lions in 2005, the choir performs not only in and around London, but has also sung in Scandinavia, Hong Kong, Holland, France, Spain, Italy, Ireland and Wales. The Choir performed in the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics in front of a worldwide audience of more than one billion.

A new album was released last year and, since February this year, when they sang the National Anthems on the pitch in Rome before the 6 Nations match between Italy and Wales, the Choir has given concerts in churches and halls in Surrey, Kent, and Kew, and took part in a concert with two other choirs in Sussex, raising money for several good causes. They also appeared for the fourth time on the BBC's St David’s Day edition of 'Saturday Kitchen Live'.

More recently the Choir has performed after-dinner cabaret spots for corporate organisations, sang at two weddings, and has recorded adverts for sponsors of the British & Irish Lions.

All this is under the inspired leadership of Musical Director Michael Wyn Jones and accompanist Dafydd Chapman. Visitors and potential new members are always welcome to join us at our rehearsals in SW London.
